FAQ
How does individual control work with the PA-28, and what are the benefits over synchronized or parallel control setups?

The PA-28 outputs separate signals per actuator, with independent movement for each actuator. This is ideal for systems that do not require synchronized motion or where you need individual actuator control.

How can I switch between momentary and non-momentary modes on the PA-28 controller?

Changing between momentary vs non-momentary control box settings requires access inside the enclosure. Once you have access, follow the steps below:

Momentary Mode

  • Ensure the Jumper S1 on the PCB is connected
  • Hold UP to extend the actuator, let go to stop the actuator
  • Hold DOWN to retract the actuator, let go to stop the actuator

Non-Momentary Mode

  • Ensure the Jumpers S1 on the PCB is disconnected
  • Press UP to extend the actuator, Press UP again to stop the actuator
  • Press DOWN to retract the actuator, Press DOWN again to stop the actuator
  • If DOWN is pressed while the actuator is extending, it will reverse direction and begin to retract
What is the RF range of the remote and how do I assign each button to a specific actuator channel?

The PA-28 has an RF range of 30–50 ft in open air paired with the RF remote actuator controller. The buttons automatically assign to channels once a dual channel remote is paired successfully. For actuator remote pairing, please see the Remote Synchronization Process:

  • Open the control box and press the white button. the blue LED with turn on
  • Press any button on the remote and the LED will turn off
  • The remote is now saved to the control box
  • A maximum of two remotes can be saved to one control box
What types of linear actuators are compatible with the PA-28 and what wiring setup is required?

Actuator compatibility requirements for the PA-28 include models having brushed DC motors, 12 VDC operation, and a current draw below 15A per channel. The output ports are compatible with 2-Pin Molex Mini-Fit Jr connectors found on many actuators to ensure simple plug-and-play compatibility.

What safety protections are built into the PA-28 and how can I troubleshoot if a fuse blows or a channel stops working?

The PA-28 offers an in-line fuse as protection for short circuit safety. If a channel stops, check for pinched wires, shorts, blown fuses, reversed polarity, and undersized power supplies by measuring the output values and testing for continuity using a multimeter. Replace fuses as necessary with the listed rating only.
