Description
PA-30 Specifications

The PA-30 dual channel control box allows for parallel control of linear actuators. We’ve specifically designed this unit to overcome common challenges found in many wireless actuator control box solutions, such as:

  • Easy Setup: Plug-n-play connections with the included wire harness allow for fast and simple wiring to your system.
  • Hand Remotes: Included in each kit are two hand remotes for flexibility in controlling your system with a spare backup or using multiple remotes in different places at the same time.
  • Electrical Protection: The PA-30 control box is designed with safety features such as the included in-line fuse for short circuit protection.

Key Benefits and Features of the PA-30

  • Voltage Compatibility: The 12 VDC input and output voltage operation allows compatibility with a wide range of actuators and power supplies.
  • Current Draw: The PA-30 control box is rated for 30A, however, each channel individually is rated for 15A.
  • Dual Channel Control: Multiple actuators wired in parallel can be non-synchronously controlled by the same control box as long as the current draw for each channel stays within 15A.
  • Versatile Control: Supports both momentary and non-momentary operation modes to accommodate different user preferences.
  • Wireless Remote: Using the RF remote provided, users have the ability to extend, stop, and retract their actuators from up to 9.1-15.2 m away (open air).

FAQ
What is the difference between parallel and synchronized actuator control in the PA-30?

Parallel actuator control using the PA-30 runs multiple actuators at the same time without feedback and works well for non-critical alignment. Synchronized actuator control, such as using the PA-CB40, uses positional feedback in the process to keep actuators level and in step, ideal for lids, platforms, or lifts that must stay square.

How do I switch between momentary and non-momentary modes on the PA-30 control box?

Changing modes for momentary and non-momentary mode control requires access inside the enclosure. Once you have access, follow the steps below:

Momentary Mode

  • Ensure the Jumper S1 on the PCB is connected
  • Hold UP to extend the actuator, let go to stop the actuator
  • Hold DOWN to retract the actuator, let go to stop the actuator

Non-Momentary Mode

  • Ensure the Jumpers S1 on the PCB is disconnected
  • Press UP to extend the actuator. Press UP again to stop the actuator
  • Press DOWN to retract the actuator. Press DOWN again to stop the actuator
  • If DOWN is pressed while the actuator is extending, it will reverse direction and begin to retract
What are the RF remote’s range limitations and pairing instructions for the PA-30?

The PA-30 has a 30-50 ft range controller capability (open air) with the RF actuator remote. For pairing remotes, please see the Remote Synchronization Process:

  • Open the control box, press and hold the white button and the blue LED will turn on
  • While holding down the white button, press any button on the remote and the LED will turn off
  • The remote is now synced to the control box
  • A maximum of two remotes can be saved to one control box
What kind of power supply is required for the PA-30 and how do I ensure amperage compatibility?

The power source selection compatible with PA-30 is any 12V actuator power supply that can meet the total actuator current draw for your use case; however, we do not recommend using the PA-30 for actuators that draw more than 15A per channel.

How does the built-in inline fuse protect the system, and how can it be replaced if blown?

The inline fuse opens when there is a short or a significant spike in current to help protect the controller and actuators, mainly as short circuit protection. Disconnect power, open the holder, and replace the fuse with the same type and rating listed in the manual.
